The 1 st East African Community Health And Scientific Conference was held at Speke Resort and Conference Centre, Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda, from 28th – 30th March 2007.

Main theme: “Responding to Health Challenges in East Africa”.

Sub-themes: The following were sub-themes;

i) Human Resources for Health and quality of care.

ii) Linking Health Research to policy and practice.

iii) Combating Emerging and Re-emerging diseases.
