5th East African Health and Scientific Conference and International Health Exhibition and Trade Fair, Kampala - Uganda

The 5th East African Health and Scientific Conference and International Health Exhibition and Trade Fair that was held at Serena Hotel and International Conference Centre from March 25-27, 2015 Kampala, Uganda.

Main theme:  “Investing in health through strengthening regional health systems, and institutions towards the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases”.

Sub-themes: The conference was organized into four sub-themes;

i) Health Systems Strengthening.

ii) Integrated Approaches to Disease Prevention, Control, Management and Health Promotion.

iii) Social Determinants of Health.

iv) Diseases and Conditions of Public Health Importance.

Symposia: The four symposia were;

i) The 2nd East African Community (EAC) Health Ministers and Parliamentarians Forum and Symposium on Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health with the theme “Accelerating and Sustaining Progress in Women and Children’s Health in the East African Community Post 2015”.

ii) Accelerating Integrated Health and HIV&AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Tuberculosis and other opportunistic infections responses.

iii) Promoting Access to Safe, Efficacious and Quality Medicines, Medical Devices, Health Products and Technologies in the EAC Region.

iv) The Second East African Epidemiological Symposium: Promoting Integrated “One Health” Approaches on Human, Animal and Ecosystem Interventions.
